Embrace the Fire Within: Unleash Your Inner Dragon
Dragons have fascinated people for centuries. They appear in myths, legends, books, movies, and television shows around the world. Sometimes they're terrifying creatures to be defeated. Other times they're wise protectors or powerful allies. No matter how they're portrayed, dragons almost always represent strength, courage, and incredible power.
Maybe that's one reason so many of us are drawn to them.
Every time I visit Florida, I can't help but smile when I see dragons. The giant LEGO dragon at Disney Springs catches everyone's attention, and the fire-breathing dragon perched on Gringotts Bank in Diagon Alley at Universal Studios is one of those attractions people stop to watch over and over again. There's just something about a dragon that captures our imagination.

While dragons may be mythical, the qualities they represent don't have to be.
Every one of us has an inner fire. It's the passion that drives us to improve, protect those we love, and keep moving forward when life gets difficult. Sometimes that fire burns brightly. Other times it seems like it's almost gone. But it's still there, waiting to be rekindled.
Life has a way of testing us. We all face setbacks, disappointments, failures, injuries, and losses. We run into obstacles that seem bigger than we are. It's easy to question ourselves or wonder if we have what it takes to get through them.
That's when it's time to unleash your inner dragon.
To me, that doesn't mean becoming aggressive or reckless. It means refusing to let fear make your decisions. It means standing tall when things get hard. It means trusting the skills you've developed, continuing to learn, and believing you're capable of finding a way forward.
I've seen this mindset make a difference in martial arts, in self-defense, and in everyday life. The people who succeed aren't always the strongest or the fastest. They're the ones who refuse to quit. They adapt, keep learning, and continue moving toward their goals even when the path isn't easy.
If you want to strengthen your own inner dragon, start with a few simple habits.
Know what matters to you. Your purpose fuels your fire.
Remember the challenges you've already overcome. You've survived difficult days before, and those experiences prove you're stronger than you sometimes realize.
Set meaningful goals, then focus on the next step instead of worrying about the entire journey.
Keep practicing your skills. Whether it's self-defense, your profession, or simply becoming a better person, consistent practice builds confidence.
Finally, surround yourself with people who encourage you to grow instead of people who constantly extinguish your enthusiasm.
The next time you see a dragon in a movie, on a book cover, at a theme park, or anywhere else, let it be more than entertainment. Let it remind you that courage, resilience, and determination are qualities you can choose every day.
The dragon may be mythical.
The fire within you is not.
